Rainy Days

Gray and gloomy, dreary and wet
A good book and my pjs and I'm all set
Curled up on the couch and wrapped in a blanket
My kids right beside me, how much better could life get
They snuggle in tight and drift off to sleep
Angelic little faces, so beautiful I weep
My life before them, had no meaning
But then they were born andI thought I was dreaming
Was it possible to be this happy?
Was it possible to love someone this much?
My heart felt as if it would burst
How can I explain it
How can I tell you
Unless you've been there, it's too abstract to understand

Invisible Me

I wander around completely unseen

Through parks and even people just like a dream

They shiver a bit and then look around

Wondering about the chill they just found

Through subways I run trying for attention

I sit down beside someone and nudge them just a smidgen

They look beside them at the empty seat

Then slide away and pull in their feet

They know they're not alone and wonder if they're crazy

Or maybe that drink earlier made everything just a little bit hazy

Their stop is coming up, just a few minutes more

Then they will bolt, straight for the door

Up the stairs they run to the bright sunlight

Trying to escape their unseen fright

Finally a calm comes over them once more

But just wait til the next time the subway closes its door
